Opened in 1986,
our theater building was the result of
years of fund-raising efforts on the part of many
people. We were justly proud of the new facility. Our first production
was BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. |
Outside the building is a parking
lot and gazebo, lending atmosphere to the
surroundings. located in the Historic District of
the city, we have made our contribution to the
restoration of the old part of Fort Smith. |
Every important building must have a
cornerstone. Often people place 'time capsules'
behind cornerstones, little treasures for future
generations to discover. What might lie behind our
cornerstone? |
As far as
we are concerned, through this door pass the finest
people in the world. Where the Stage Door Johnnies
just gather at other theatres. Here, we drag them
inside and put them to work. |
The Apple Tree was
originally painted in the "O" Street
building. For years, every new show produced a new
"apple" on the tree. When FSLT moved to
the new building in 1986, there was no discussion,
the Apple Tree had to go with us. |
We are blessed with a comfortable
green room. Depending on the size of the cast, it's
not always spacious enough but it is so much better
than we used to have and everyone enjoys it
immensely. It is quiet enough that the cast can run
lines here while the crew is busy on the set. |
