A Community Theater as old as ours is naturally proud of its
history, and of the plays it has produced over the years. The
theater is an extended family where the young newcomers learn
from the seasoned veterans and make life-long friendships in the
process.
From the original show, Mr. and
Mrs. North, presented at the Junior High School ( now Darby Junior High ),
to the Goldman Hotel ballroom, to the 'Old Building' on O
Street, to our current stage on North 6th street, over
5,000 men
and women of Fort Smith Little Theatre have brought more than 350
plays to our stage over the years.
It is heartwarming to look back
over the work our friends and teachers have done through the
years. Unfortunately we have lost track of some of it. While we
have the names of the plays that were produced, we do not in all
cases have copies of the programs, pictures, posters, and
sometimes even the names of the cast and crew.
We are making a concerted effort
to complete an electronic history of this material before it all
disappears for good. 1. We are compiling a database of everyone who participated
in any show. 2. We are making electronic files of every program we can
locate. 3. We are making electronic
copies of any pictures we can find.
It gets harder every year to find
the old material. If you have any old programs or newspaper
clippings or pictures of any of the plays or participants, you
can help us greatly by either loaning the
materials for us to copy or donating the materials to our
library.
If you or any member of your family
participated in any of the earlier plays at the Little Theater,
you may have a
scrapbook or souvenir programs stashed away. If you have any
materials at all that you could make available to us, please
contact us to arrange
to pick them up and return them.
You can see the cast and crew
lists from the links on the
Past Shows page.
And we thank you for your
support, through all our past years and all those years to come. |
